The training and qualification of our employees has a long tradition with us.
The quality of the training is especially important when providing services. Only through the continued expansion and transmission of knowledge can services be provided at the highest level.

Freight Forwarding and Logistics Clerks (m/f)

Freight forwarding and logistics clerks are responsible for the organization of the shipment, handling and storage of goods. In order to facilitate smooth progress, they select suitable driving routes and means of transport and draw up schedules. They offer advice and support to clients with regard to packaging, draw up bids, prepare contracts and see to insurance cover.

They are also the contact partners with regard to client complaints and the notification and settlement of claims. In addition they calculate prices, assist in the calculation of costs and yields and handle payments and the billing of arrears. They make out the documents accompanying the goods shipments, the freight and customs documents and perform general administrative and clerical work.

Entrance requirement: Secondary school leaving certificate (‘Mittlere Reife’) or its equivalent

The training at BAUER offers:

  • a varied scope of activities

  • the acquisition of knowledge in many areas of freight forwarding

Specialists in Storage Logistics (m/f)

Specialists in storage logistics work in logistics facilities, industrial companies, freight forwarding and mail order firms, accept goods of all kind and inspect their quantity and condition on the basis of the accompanying shipping documents. They organize the unloading of goods, sort them and store them appropriately in their pre-designated places. They ensure that the goods are stored under optimal conditions by regulating the temperature and humidity, for example. In the goods issuing department they plan the delivery tours and establish the cheapest shipping method.

 They put the delivery together, pack the goods and compile shipping documents such as the bills of delivery or customs clearance documents. In addition, they load trucks, containers or railway cars, operate fork-lift trucks and secure the load against slippage or leakage. In addition, specialists in storage logistics optimize the in-house flow of materials and information from procurement to sales. They explore new purchase sources for goods, compile bid comparisons, order goods and see to their payment.

Professional Truck Drivers (m/f)

In public transport, for example, professional drivers work as bus drivers in line or tourist traffic. In freight traffic they are mainly on the road in trucks. They spend a lot of time behind the wheel and get to know the traffic regulations at home and abroad. Before starting out on their routes, they carry out takeover and pre-departure checks on the vehicles, inspecting the wheels, the motor, the plates and the working order of the brakes, for example.

Afterwards they take on the freight or the luggage of the guests to be transported. They ensure that the weight of the load is evenly distributed and inspect the accompanying documents.

Dual Bachelor’s Studies: Freight Forwarding, Transport and Logistics

This graduate can be employed as a manager or employee in every transport industry business (heavy goods traffic, railway traffic, inland waterway transportation, sea and air freight) and logistics. The duties include the planning, execution, monitoring and optimizing of logistical processes as well as quality assurance, marketing, controlling and performance of management functions. Within the framework of freight forwarding services, he acquires potential clients, advises them and presents them with differentiated offers. Special emphasis is placed here on the creation of an overall logistics concept
